Brazilian percussion with a feminine touch
Zalindê, France’s first all-female batucada, was born of a Franco-Brazilian friendship 17 years ago and has won the title of ’Batucada champions’ three times. The group has since built on its musical meetings and artistic challenges to offer repertoires combining songs, dances and instrumentals of a high technical and artistic standard. Its influences range from jazz to hip hop, and African, South American and oriental music... Zalindê likes to stray off the beaten track and blend its musical influences with a solid Brazilian repertoire. The rhythms ring out with the sounds of the surdo drum, repinique, snare drum and agogô bell... All with a touch of sensuality and energy that raises the temperature a few degrees!
