Stracho Temelkovski & The Sound Braka (’brothers’ in Macedonian) explore acoustic resonance and orality as they switch between jazz, the music of the Balkans and Mediterranean, as well as African and Asian tones. Multi-instrumentalist Stracho Temelkovski founded Sound Braka to share the richness of this repertoire with his "sound brothers". He possesses the rare ability to be able to switch between the bass, viola, mandolin and percussion instruments (dafs, bendir, cymbal and udu), and even play them simultaneously! This ensemble condenses and builds on the musical heritage of both popular oral traditions and classical cultures. The wild rhythms transport us to the Balkans and Latin countries, with flavours of jazz. The musicians combine virtuosity and authenticity. The Sound Braka, combining elements of jazz and world music, will be released as an album in early 2020. To celebrate the album’s release, Stracho will be bringing together on stage the "sound brothers" who played on the album, for a unique performance.
