Les Fleurs de Bach combines elements of composition and improvisation for an original creation. The name is a reference to Bach flower remedies (used to heal emotional problems), as well as the music for strings by Johann Sebastian Bach that have been a source of inspiration for Chris Martineau (viola player) and Julie Läderach (cellist). Over the course of their collaboration as a duet, they have created a "sonic identity" in which there is no hierarchy of languages or materials. Their musical imagination is home to the sounds of landscapes and pre-language, as well as faraway cultures.
