Erik Truffaz is drawn to musical meetings. Meetings with other musicians, other sounds, and other sources of inspiration… La Voce Della Luna was born of a meeting with Marie-Laure Teissèdre, choirmaster of Émelthée. The project is built on four pieces composed by Truffaz: Saraswatti, Ad Lesbiam, Mettus remite, and La Voce Della Luna. Here, Hindu influences mingle with Pérotin, Arvo Pärt and Cristobal de Morales, as Erik Truffaz colours and improvises with the pieces while musically conversing with the choir. The musicians mix with the audience to together sing and share collective improvisations, and the memorable final song, La Voce Della Luna. An amazing conversation between Medieval liturgical songs and jazz.
