Five dying languages live again

Marie-Hélène Bernard Design and composition

This installation is a tribute by sound artist Marie-Hélène Bernard to Boa Senior, an 85-year-old woman living on the Andaman archipelago (Gulf of Bengal), and the last speaker of the Bo language. In this project, the artist expands her approach and works with linguistic materials from five world regions: Guugu Yimithirr (an Australian Aboriginal language), Ongota (an Ethiopian language), Sauk (an Amerindian language) and Ös (a Siberian language).
