Nguyên Lê Saiyuki Trio & Rudresh Mahanthappa

This virtuoso guitarist of Vietnamese origin is a one-man cultural mosaic in his own right. Alongside the tabla-player Prabhu Edouard and the brilliant female musician Mieko Miyazaki on the koto (a traditional Japanese instrument), Nguyên Lê develops a project that aspires to perfection, in keeping with the spirit of the festival itself: a representation of journeys, whether real or imagined. This celebration will have a particularly Indian emphasis, in that another virtuoso, the Indo-American saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa will join the trio for a European premiere.
