E’Joung-Ju
gômoungo
This installation takes us on an imaginary journey through the world of Korean shamanesses, or mudangs. By combining images taken from ethnological records with percussion, spoken voice and song, Marie-Hélène Bernard takes us with her on her foray along the "road of white sand to explore the spirit of the seven stars..." E’Joung-Ju, a musician and player of the geomungo, a traditional Korean stringed instrument that dates back more than 1,500 years, joins Marie-Hélène Bernard in this performance at the Musée Dauphinois.
