« Grenoble Gospel Singers »
Franklin Akoa Mva et Maëva Toffa
direction
Born from the worship and rituals of the House of God Keith Dominion Church, Sacred Steel is a musical style with its origins in the Afro-American gospel, sung and played with electric slide guitars. The Campbell Brothers have chosen to take this devoted and profoundly moving religious/dance music out of church and into concert halls the world over.
The Campbells are gospel's most contemporary representatives. They have given this musical genre a new lease of life through their blend of funk, electric blues, soul, jazz and more. In the first part, the one-hundred-strong Grenoble Gospel Singers choir sweep through the history of gospel, from Negro spirituals to today's music.
